Hi, hi, hello!

So welcome — I’m so happy to have you here.

I’m Katherine, a naturopathic doctor specializing in mental health. As a naturopath, my job is to pass along the background info (physiology) that correlates with experience (symptoms). Education first.

Which is why I love making Ponder and Practice. Thirty to 60 minute appointments run by pretty fast. Rarely enough time to dive into everything we might like. Life isn’t just symptoms and supplements anyhow — what about the relationship between the mind and body? How do we find livable rhythms in our day to day, throughout our weeks, and over the years? You have intuitive knowing, but are you accessing it? In what ways can you buck up and courageously take the reigns of your own mind, your own actions, and, inevitably, your own life? Are there gentle changes to be made, day by day, or is the time ripe for an overhaul?

Ponder and Practice was an experiment I started in 2020, mostly just to see if I could make a podcast anyone would be interested in. Turned out, yes.

Though the format has changed over the years (audio podcast to Substack and to YouTube), the mission has remained the same — to maintain a space for honest, nuanced, thoughtful conversation. Invariably, there are more questions than answers. I can’t tell you what’s right for you, but I can share what I see, how I think, and how this informs my actions in the hopes it helps you to do the same.
